The challenge

Source Atlantic was running its Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 estate across multiple tenants, each with its own integrations, user groups, and security and compliance baselines. That fragmentation made governance harder and every change riskier, and the business needed the estate consolidated into a single, governed tenant without losing operational momentum.

Beyond moving data, the work had to rebuild the platform's operating model, bringing apps, automations, reports, and data together under one secure, scalable framework while data integrity held, every integration kept working, and day-to-day operations carried on uninterrupted.

Our approach

BITSUMMIT ran the consolidation as a controlled, solution-aware migration, because the hard part of moving Power Platform and Dynamics 365 between tenants is everything that breaks in the process: environment variables, connection references, security roles, and the integrations wired into them. The program was sequenced so each of those was handled deliberately rather than discovered at cutover.

Source Atlantic consolidation: two fragmented Power Platform and Dynamics 365 tenants migrated into one governed tenant with dev, test, and production environments, conditional access, managed identities, and the four Power Platform workloads, designed by BITSUMMIT

Plan against the real dependency map

BITSUMMIT inventoried the existing Power Platform and Dynamics 365 assets, their integrations, and their security posture, then mapped the dependencies between them. That assessment drove a migration plan that fixed the sequence, defined the managed-identity and service-account strategy, and surfaced the risks early, so the team migrated against an accurate picture of the environment rather than out-of-date documentation.

Stand up a governed destination tenant first

Rather than migrate into a bare tenant, BITSUMMIT built the target to best practice before anything moved. That meant separate development, test, and production environments for Power Platform, Dynamics 365 settings, roles, and permissions mirrored across, and Conditional Access, compliance policies, and security baselines applied from the outset. Service accounts and managed identities were established up front so automations would authenticate cleanly, without long-lived secrets scattered through the solution.

Migrate with integrity controls at every step

Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Power BI datasets, and the Dynamics 365 data and customizations were migrated with data integrity preserved throughout. Environment variables were re-pointed, data sources reconnected, and every configuration documented, so the new environment did not depend on undocumented knowledge to keep running.

Restore and prove every integration

Gateways, custom connectors, APIs, and third-party integrations were re-established, then put through functional, performance, and security testing and a structured UAT cycle with formal sign-off. Communication kits, training materials, and adoption plans were delivered in parallel, so users were ready for the new environment before it went live.

Cut over and retire the legacy estate

The cutover was deliberately low-impact, run with real-time monitoring and immediate issue resolution. After go-live, BITSUMMIT validated the environment, updated the documentation, and helped decommission the legacy tenants so the old estate stopped accruing cost, licensing, and security exposure.

The outcome

Source Atlantic now runs on a single, governed tenant, consolidated from its previous split estate and configured to best practice. Every workload made the move with its data intact: Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Power BI datasets, and Dynamics 365 customizations all run in one environment, with gateways, connectors, and APIs re-established and validated end to end.

The cutover itself was monitored and clean, backed by closure documentation and a full migration blueprint covering the assessment, risk plan, and timeline, which makes the same approach repeatable for future work. Testing, UAT, and training were delivered alongside the move, so the platform was adopted rather than just deployed.

With the consolidated tenant live, Source Atlantic can operate a managed-identity model for its automations, run quarterly governance cycles, and scale further modernization across Power Platform and Dynamics 365 from one controlled foundation.

Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dynamics 365 moved into one governed tenant with data integrity preserved end to end and a clean, monitored cutover.
