Position Details
BITSUMMIT is hiring a Microsoft 365 Architect to lead the design, governance, and delivery of modern workplace solutions. The Microsoft 365 platform has changed substantially over the past few years, so we are focused on what you can do with it today rather than how long your resume runs.
You will work across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Viva, Power Platform, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Defender, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. You will work with executives, IT leadership, and our delivery teams to set strategy, guide implementation, and drive adoption.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for Microsoft 365 architecture, design, and delivery across enterprise clients.
- Design secure, scalable, and compliant solutions across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Viva, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Guide identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Define security and compliance strategies using Microsoft Purview, covering Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, retention, insider risk, and eDiscovery.
- Architect and govern Microsoft Teams deployments, including lifecycle management, governance, secure external sharing, and voice/telephony integration.
- Lead migrations from on-premises or legacy systems into Microsoft 365, with coexistence strategies that keep business disruption to a minimum.
- Implement Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager for device compliance, mobile application protection, and secure BYOD tied to Conditional Access.
- Deploy Microsoft Defender (Office 365, Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps) to strengthen tenant security and support Zero Trust.
- Build automation with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Power Automate to standardize configuration and enforce governance.
- Define licensing and cost optimization strategies that keep users productive without overspending.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into Microsoft 365 solutions for executive stakeholders.
- Mentor technical teams, run workshops, and lead knowledge transfer so clients can sustain what we build.
- Contribute to practice growth through reusable frameworks, accelerators, and adoption playbooks.
Requirements
We hire on demonstrated skill. You should bring:
- Hands-on depth across the current Microsoft 365 stack: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Viva, and Power Platform.
- Practical experience with Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and Zero Trust.
- Working knowledge of Purview (DLP, sensitivity labels, insider risk, eDiscovery) and the Defender suite.
- Automation skills with PowerShell, Graph API, and PnP.
- Experience with migrations or tenant transformations, or the technical reasoning to plan one.
- Clear communication with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- A habit of keeping up with the platform as it changes.
