Position Summary
We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Architect to lead the design, governance, and delivery of modern workplace solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role is ideal for a senior professional with deep technical expertise who can translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and user-centric solutions. As a trusted advisor, you will drive enterprise-scale transformations across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Viva, Power Platform, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Defender, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. You will partner with executives, IT leadership, and delivery teams to define strategy, guide implementation, and enable sustainable adoption of the Microsoft 365 platform.

Scenario:
A multinational client has adopted Microsoft 365 but is facing three challenges:
- Sensitive financial data in SharePoint and OneDrive is being overshared
- Business leaders want to enable Copilot quickly, but compliance teams are concerned about data exposure
- External contractors require Teams access, but security insists on strict controls
Your task:
- Explain how you would architect Entra ID access controls (MFA, Conditional Access, PIM) to secure identities
- Recommend Purview and Defender capabilities to protect sensitive data while enabling productivity
- Outline how you would enable Copilot adoption responsibly, balancing business demand with governance
- Propose an approach for secure external collaboration in Teams that satisfies both productivity and compliance needs

Job Description
- Act as the technical lead for Microsoft 365 architecture, design, and delivery across enterprise clients.
- Design secure, scalable, and compliant solutions across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Viva, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Provide expert guidance on identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Define security and compliance strategies using Microsoft Purview including Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, retention, insider risk, and eDiscovery.
- Architect and govern Microsoft Teams deployments including lifecycle management, governance frameworks, secure external sharing, and integration with voice/telephony.
- Lead modernization and migration projects from on-premises or legacy systems into Microsoft 365, ensuring coexistence strategies and minimal business disruption.
- Implement Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager for device compliance, mobile application protection, and secure BYOD strategies integrated with Conditional Access.
- Deploy Microsoft Defender solutions (Office 365, Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps) to strengthen tenant security posture and align with Zero Trust principles.
- Leverage automation with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Power Automate to standardize configuration, enforce governance, and improve operational efficiency.
- Define licensing and cost optimization strategies that balance user productivity and enterprise cost control.
- Partner with executive stakeholders as a trusted advisor, translating business and regulatory requirements into actionable Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Mentor technical teams, run workshops, and deliver knowledge transfer sessions to ensure sustainable adoption and operational maturity.
- Contribute to practice growth through reusable frameworks, accelerators, and adoption playbooks for Microsoft 365 and Copilot.
- Demonstrate strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to influence executives and lead solution discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Experience
Required Experience:
- 8–10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft 365 architecture
- Deep expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Viva, and Power Platform
- Proven experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and Zero Trust
- Strong background with Purview (DLP, labels, insider risk, eDiscovery) and Defender suite
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise migrations and tenant transformations
- Proficiency with automation (PowerShell, Graph API, PnP) and governance frameworks
- Excellent communication and consulting skills, with ability to influence executives and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certifications: MS-102, MS-700, MS-721, SC-300, SC-400.
- Experience delivering Microsoft 365 security/compliance in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government).
- Familiarity with Teams voice/telephony integration and advanced collaboration scenarios.
- Experience in an MSP or professional services environment.
